Operators, not founders looking for a category.

XylaWorks is run by people with three decades of enterprise technology commercialization and eighteen years building production systems in regulated industries. The platform is a deliberate application of that experience to a problem AI is now ready to address.

Dr. Cedric D. Alford

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Cedric D. Alford became President and Chief Executive Officer of XylaWorks in August 2024. He is responsible for overall strategy, market development, and commercial architecture across the platform’s four revenue channels — direct consumer, employer offboarding, institutional licensing, and workforce development partnerships.

Dr. Alford spent three decades in enterprise technology, including roles as Global Director, Marketing Solutions Sales and U.S. Director, Digital Sales for Data and AI in Regulated Industries at Microsoft, where his work was the commercial introduction of the foundational AI technology now operating across the industry. He has worked under the leadership of two of the most studied chief executives of the modern era — Jack Welch and Satya Nadella — and the operating discipline of both is present in how the company is being built. XylaWorks is the application of that career to a problem agentic AI is now ready to address, in markets where the impact reaches communities that the previous generation of career technology did not serve.

Dr. Alford has also taught the work. He has served as a graduate professor of Management, Leadership, and Marketing for fifteen years, including as Marketing Faculty Leader at the Jack Welch Management Institute, and has spoken publicly on ESG and the role of intelligent automation in expanding economic participation. He holds a Doctorate in Management.

Avant Vernon II

Chief Technology Officer

Avant Vernon II leads platform architecture, engineering, and technology strategy for XylaWorks. His eighteen-year career spans the energy and financial services sectors — regulated environments where the cost of execution failure is measurable and the bar for institutional adoption is set by audit rather than by claim. The discipline he carries into XylaWorks is the discipline of those industries: systems whose security, performance, and reliability are inspected, not assumed.

That discipline is the right match for an AI-powered platform delivered to candidates, institutions, and workforce programs. At XylaWorks, he is responsible for the platform meeting the security, compliance, and performance demands of institutional deployment — and for the architecture evolving with the requirements that AI and data governance will place on platforms of this type. The technical detail of how the platform meets those demands is documented on Platform Foundation.
