Built on Research. Governed by Methodology. Led by People Who Understand the Problem From the Inside.

XylaWorks is a platform — not a consultancy, not a coaching practice, not a service that depends on the availability of any individual. The leadership behind it brings the experience that shaped what the platform is designed to do and why it was built the way it was.

Dr. Cedric D. Alford

President & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Alford built XylaWorks from a specific vantage point: someone who has been on every side of the career intelligence equation simultaneously. He has needed this kind of guidance. He has worked inside the organizations that make the hiring decisions. He has researched why those decisions systematically miss qualified people. And he has remained directly accountable to the communities that need this most — not as a professional commitment, but as a personal one that predates the platform by decades.

His doctoral research in Organizational Leadership examined the structural barriers that cause qualified people to be overlooked inside organizations that believe they evaluate talent objectively. That research did not produce the platform — it produced the intellectual grounding for the framework the platform is built on. The 3-Dimensional Leader Framework is the direct result: a structured, consistent methodology for assessing competence, conduct, and contribution — the three dimensions that hiring decisions actually turn on, even when the hiring manager cannot articulate it.

Full background

His career spans senior leadership roles inside enterprise organizations at global scale, including fifteen years at Microsoft advising C-level executives on the people, processes, and systems required to build and scale competitive organizations. He has led faculty at the Jack Welch Management Institute, developing curriculum and working directly with Jack Welch on how management philosophy is applied in practice — and seeing firsthand what that framework captures about professional value and what it consistently misses.

He is currently on graduate faculty at Colorado State University Global and Southern New Hampshire University, actively developing the workforce from the academic side while remaining current on where the barriers to advancement are emerging in real time. Fifteen years of graduate teaching in organizational leadership, management, ethics, and organizational behavior gives him a continuous read on the gap between how organizations say they develop talent and how they actually do it.

The accountability that matters most is not professional. Long before this platform existed, Dr. Alford was in classrooms, on school boards, and at career readiness events — in the communities this platform was built to reach — doing this work directly. That engagement has never been episodic. It has never been advisory. It has been sustained because the mission preceded the business.

Through direct partnerships with the Mark Cuban Heroes Center, Dallas ISD, Garland ISD, and Tyler ISD, he delivered career readiness and interview preparation to students across multiple campuses over many years. As Board Chairman of Nova Academy — a TEA-certified charter school — he operated inside the governance, compliance, and community accountability structures of Texas public education. He served on the Garland ISD Bond Committee, where education funding decisions are made at the policy level, and on the Sachse Economic Development Committee, where the connection between regional labor markets and educational pipelines is a standing conversation.

He is a graduate of a public high school in one of the communities where this work happens. He received career readiness support as a student. The platform was not designed for a hypothetical user. It was designed by someone who knows what it means to need this — and to depend on whether the institution you attend has the resources to provide it.

Avant Vernon II

Avant Vernon II, Chief Technology Officer, XylaWorks

Chief Technology Officer

Avant Vernon II leads the architecture, engineering, and technical delivery of the XylaWorks platform. He is responsible for every layer of what the platform does — the assessment engine, the document generation pipeline, the institutional access and reporting infrastructure, and the security architecture that governs how data is handled across individual, employer, and institutional accounts.

His technical direction is grounded in a clear principle: the platform must deliver at the depth the methodology requires, at the scale the distribution model demands, without the quality degrading in either direction. That is an engineering problem as much as a product problem, and it is the standard against which every build decision is made — from tier-gated assessment flows to aggregate-only reporting for partners.

The platform was rebuilt under his technical leadership following a comprehensive audit that identified the gap between what XylaWorks needed to deliver and what the prior architecture could support. Everything the platform delivers now — the assessment framework, the tier structure, the institutional access model, the security infrastructure — was built to that standard.

Built to Operate Beyond Any Individual.

XylaWorks was designed from the beginning to deliver consistently — regardless of who is available, at what volume, to whom. The governance structure reflects that design principle at every level.

Methodology, Not Judgment

Every output the platform produces is governed by the 3-Dimensional Leader Framework — a documented, consistent methodology applied the same way to every person, every time. Individual judgment does not enter the assessment. The framework does.

Research-Informed Framework

The framework is grounded in organizational leadership research on how hiring decisions are actually made and where evaluation processes fall short. It is not a product design opinion. It is a structured response to a documented problem.

Enterprise-Grade Security

Azure-hosted infrastructure with managed identity, encrypted at rest and in transit. Individual data is never shared with institutions or employers. Aggregate reporting only — designed for Title III and WIOA compliance requirements.

Human-Governed Intelligence

AI accelerates the delivery of career intelligence at scale. The framework, the quality standards, and the methodology that governs every output are set and maintained by the people behind the platform — not delegated to the technology.
